Founded in 2023 by Daniel Nigro, Amusement Records was started as a home for Chappell Roan to release music after parting ways with her former label. During this time Roan and Nigro made The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and subsequently partnered with Island Records for its release.

While Roan is currently the only artist on the label, Amusement has partnered with Universal Music for its expansion. Nigro states that the label 'is a place where artists can feel comfortable growing and developing at their own pace but with the resources needed to compete, thrive and succeed. A label with the freedom to choose the right team that fits each individual artist.'
